We’ve all been busy getting into cooking mode around here at Annabel Trends HQ.
We did a straw poll of our favourite recipes and cooking tips and here’s a few we came up with.
Ann, The Original Annabel Trends Guru, shares the latest and greatest calorie friendly cocktail…
The Almost Guilt Free Skinny Mojito. (Add your own background!)

Ingredients
1/2 lime
3 sprigs mint
1.5 ounces light rum
Soda water
NB-add fresh fruit for a sweet kick instead of sugar
Directions
1. Squeeze in the juice of 1/2 small lime, and toss in the squeezed lime shell.
2. Add mint sprigs and muddle for a moment. Then add the light rum and handful of ice, and fill with chilled soda water.
Makes 1 drink.
Her handy hint?
Buy passionfruit when they are really cheap, and just throw them in the freezer. When you want a bit of passionfruit, just put one in the microwave for 15 secs. No need to store them squeezed into little containers, or freeze them in ice trays.
Nicole, our Admin Guru, loves creating spicy sensations and has her favourite tip: Chill out while you’re cooking – even when it’s spicy, a good glass of wine will help!
Sarah, Design Guru Extraordinaire, suggests putting onions in the fridge to stop you crying – or wear some sunglasses but hey, wearing sunglasses in the kitchen can look pretty funny!
Sally, our Fitness Guru and fearless leader, has huge raves for stunning online organic lamb from Silverwood Organics. She loves nothing better than a slow cooked lamb on the bbq with fresh vegetables.
Here’s her favourite recipe:
Sage and Garlic Organic Rack of Lamb (the photo isn’t actually our attempt at this recipe, unfortunately!)

3 Large red onions
Bunch of fresh sage leaves
1/3 cup olive oil
4 tbsps. chopped fresh sage
6 cloves garlic chopped coarsely
3 tbsps. caramelised onion infused balsamic vinegar
2 Organic racks of lamb cut into 4 x 4 portions
Salt and pepper
1. Pre-heat oven to hot (200c fan forced)
Slice onions into wedges, place in large baking dish with sage leaves and half of the oil.
2. Combine remaining oil in a small bowl with chopped sage, garlic and balsamic.
3. Press sage mixture all over lamb and place racks on the onion in the baking dish.
4. Roast, uncovered in hot oven about 40 – 70 min or until lamb is browned all over and cooked as desired.
5. Cover lamb and rest for 20 minutes before serving.
Serves 6
Serve with smashed potatoes and fresh greens and don’t forget the onions in the bottom of the roasting pan.
